When the Yorkville American Legion Big Band used the Beecher Center the band was still under the sponsorship and umbrella of the Yorkville American Legion, a not-for-profit organization. The band did not leave the sponsorship of the legion until nine months later. The band left the sponsorship of the legion on July 4, 2007, after performing Pro-Bono for the good people of Yorkville during the fireworks display.
To the persons hiding behind the "Silence Dogood and Honest1": I don't appreciate being called a Jerk. You don't have the guts to sign your names. What cowards!!
Yorkville already knows what a couple of alderman are constantly trying to do to our city. They hide behind the title of "Guard of Taxpayers Funds" but in reality all they want to do is to dishonor our elected mayor.
Yorkville also knows that the authors of "Silence Dogood and Honest1" have no guts. They have to hide behind these sick titles and won't sign their real names.

Replied by: Silence Dogood Tuesday, June 10, 2008``And since it is observed, that the Generality of People, now a days, are unwilling either to commend or dispraise what they read, until they are in some measure informed who or what the Author of it is, whether he be poor or rich, old or young, a Schollar or a Leather Apron Man, etc, and give their Opinion of the Performance, according to the knowledge which they have of the Author`s Circumstances...``
I neither believe there is a requirement to unmask an individual who assumes a pen name nor do I believe that I ever used or implied the word jerk in analyzing either you or the situation. I merely derive opinion based upon the facts as they are provided.
I still believe the question that goes unanswered is how the band was registered, For Profit, Not For Profit, LLC, Inc., etc? At the point where the band agent completed paperwork to use the Beecher Center, what box was checked? Business, Not for Profit, citizen, etc? As I understand the city`s policies all organizations and private citizens except those registered as NOT FOR PROFIT would have to pay rent for use of the facility.
Those are merely the observations that I make. I have no opinion on whether or not you are a jerk; that is unimportant. I just want to make sure that our citizens are being treated fairly and equitably by an ethical and moral group of elected officials. Our city is running a deficit and that is reason for concern. Replied by: Honest1 Tuesday, June 10, 2008I am the one that called him a jerk! I stand by it because anyone that tries to beat the system is a burden on the rest of us tax payers! He saw a loop hole and tried to slither through it! Replied by: Guard of Taxpayers Funds Wednesday, June 18, 2008
It does not take the elected officials to dishonor the elected mayor. The mayor has accomplished this herself in a very short time span. Strong arming the library board (Kendall County Record article, June 12, 2008). The mayor has supported another young alderman that strong armed a local business because he was not allowed to host his wild birthday party at their restaurant. She also defended this same alderman when he was found guilty of a hit and run accident! Come on … she is dishonoring herself as well as the entire City.
Once again, Mr. Falto continues to provide false information.
I would encourage everyone to stop by city hall and request a copy of the video recorded city council meeting where Mr. Falto has claimed that an alderman called him ``UNAMERICAN``. I obtained a copy of the April 22nd City Council CD and -- to no one`s surprise, the alderman never made that statement. Would Mr. Falto now consider publically apologizing to the alderman? Would he now retract his numerous “letters to the editor” in various publications? Would he inform the American Legion that he lied? The entire video recorded meeting is quite interesting.
Facts are facts … over $3,000 of taxpayers dollars were expended on a profit organization, the former American Legion Band!
